Descripción: | Quince Duncan's work, in addition to being vast, is extremely important for Costa Rican literature and especially for the necessary analysis of the topic of African descent in Costa Rica. This review focuses on each story; on literary, historical and cultural aspects that revolve around said theme. The denunciation of discrimination and racism is the axis of reflection that runs through most of the stories, as well as the theme of the revaluation of the elderly as a source of wisdom and reflection. As this is a short story publication, each of the ten stories will be reviewed, first with a summary of each story followed by a critical comment. |
