Popis:The field of foreign languages has abundantly studied the topic of learning strategies. There have been many studies since the 1970s. However, there is not much research on this topic in the context of virtuality and the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, this study describes the learning strategies of Costa Rican students in the four linguistic skills in virtuality during the COVID-19 pandemic. The methodology used was a quantitative approach, applying a questionnaire based on a Likert scale to 58 participants. The main results were that the students had a preference for listening to the sound document several times, for the use of an online dictionary to search for the meaning of unknown words, for trying to pronounce correctly when the student talks with other people, for reading aloud to determine if the words were heard well and for using the vocabulary learned in their writing.
