Descrizione:This article is a compilation of studies of recent years, in relation to dogs as facilitators of socialization among strangers, and the influence that pets have in the modern urban space. With the creation of dog parks In this work, after obtaining a notion of canine demography in Costa Rica, and the creation of the first dog park of the country, is discussed the need for creating such places. Public spaces for socialization and interaction of dogs, can benefit their owners, neighbors and the broader community, significantly increasing the levels of social capital and active life.
