Popis:This paper examines the historical development of the concepts of science and humanism, from classical antiquity to the 21st century, in order to demonstrate their interrelation and mutual dependence in shaping Western knowledge. It presents a historical and conceptual review based on documentary analysis of primary and secondary sources in Philosophy, History of Science, and Intellectual History. The article is structured in three parts: the evolution of the concept of science; the emergence and transformation of humanism; and the identification of convergences, tensions, and co-configuration between both fields. The study focuses on the Natural Sciences due to their impact on the modern definition of science. The conclusion argues that science and humanism are not isolated domains, but historically intertwined forms of knowledge that share anthropocentric foundations, ethical values, and educational projects. It also recognizes historical limitations in access to knowledge, opening possibilities to rethink their relationship through more inclusive perspectives.
