| Miêu tả: | Between 5% and 10% of the population will experience a crisis in life, with a higher incidence in childhood and in older adults. A seizure is a paroxysmal episode caused by abnormal, excessive firing or synchronous neuronal activity in the brain. Taking this into account, it is estimated that the incidence is approximately 0.3% to 0.5%, with a prevalence of 5 to 30 per 1000 inhabitants. The purpose of this review is to educate and update health professionals, researchers, and even patients. This through a review of the pathophysiological mechanisms of epilepsy and the therapeutic targets of the current anti-seizures, and the new anti-seizures approved by the FDA.
