Descripción: | Based on the collective memory of a group of former workers of the Hacienda Atirro, located in the Cartago province of Costa Rica, this article explores the experiences of working-class families during the period between 1950 and 1990. Through a qualitative approach, the main dynamics, practices and perceptions of life and work within the hacienda are analyzed. Beginning with a historical contextualization of the emergence of Atirro, the article explains how its consolidation influenced certain dynamics of subalternity and paternalism, mediated by the moral economy between employers and working people. |
