Crecimiento y supervivencia del ostión de manglar (Crassostrea rhizophorae Guilding, 1828), trasladado de Estero Vizcaya, Costa del Caribe a estanques de cultivo de camarones en Chomes, Costa Pacífica de Costa Rica

Descripción:Crassostrea rhizophorae from Vizcaya Estuary, Limón (Caribbean), were transplanted to shrimp culture ponds in Chomes, Puntarenas (Pacific), Costa Rica. The oysters were grown on continuously submerged trays. The survival rate was 70% after 45 days, and no mortality ocurred from day 45 to day 80. When the study was completed the growth weight relation was constant and the growth curve from positive, indicating a good response to transplantation and an excellent adaptation to the new environment.
