Descrizione:This article presents the research results on university extension projects, specifically referred to as social action projects at the University of Costa Rica. These projects were developed at the Atlantic Campus and were reviewed by the Social Action Commission (CAS) during the period from July 2020 to July 2024. This was a quantitative study with a non-experimental, exploratory cross-sectional design, aimed at analyzing these projects based on their characteristics using a set of evaluation criteria. The objective was to determine the common aspects of the most frequently renewed projects, the most common reasons for correction requests, and the degree of adherence of these projects to the criteria observed by the CAS. It was concluded that knowledge of the characteristics of long-standing, ongoing projects and the evaluation instruments used for project formulation proposals provides valuable tools for faculty members, whether experienced or not in the field of social action, to improve the content of project formulation documents.
