Beschreibung:This study analyzed the legitimacy discourses of Nicolás Maduro following the 2024 Venezuelan presidential election, with the aim of identifying the discursive strategies used to consolidate his victory. A corpus of nineteen clips from various social media platforms was collected within the context of the social and political crisis after the election. The data covered the period from July 1st to August 31st, 2024, and was analyzed using MAXQDA software. The material was classified into six categories of legitimacy and systematized according to the discursive strategies proposed by Wodak and Meyer (2001) and Reisigl y Wodak (2017). The results showed that Maduro employed strategies aimed at consolidating and justifying his authority, deflecting criticism, and positioning himself as a solution to political conflict. His discourse was structured around four main axes: resistance and patriotism, victimization and polarization, justice and stability, and emotional appeals. In conclusion, the study demonstrates that presidential legitimacy is not constructed solely through institutional processes, but also through discursive strategies that sustain authority in contexts of political conflict.
