Description:1812 is a tragic year for the history of the First Republic of Venezuela (1811-1812). The Royal army, commanded by Domingo Monteverde, defeats the patriotic forces commanded by Francisco Miranda pressing the Venezuelan Republic to sign the capitulation of San Mateo, on July 25, 1812. This event produces a coup against Miranda led by Simon Bolivar, on July 31. A series of betrayals make Miranda fall into the hands of the royalists. This is their political and military death.
