Descripción:The foundry industries generate large amounts of foundry sands waste that must to be finally disposed carefully. In the city of Tandil, like in other cities around the World, these wastes have been disposed in ditches creating a situation of uncertainty of the potential risk of environmental pollution.  Nowadays, regarding the management of this kind of wastes, one of the proposed issues is the use of these foundry sands as part of the raw materials in the hot mix asphalt production.  In addition to the evaluation of performance tests, this study proposes methodologies to evaluate the possibility of HMA immobilization of certain pollutants present in these sands.
