Descripción:Academic performance is a multivariate phenomenon of complex analysis. Among the multiple causes that have been studied, lexicon stands out as an interesting variable since, in addition to being explanatory, it is a skill that can be trained and reinforced in a relatively short time. Given this situation, in this paper we proposed to analyze which variables are the most important in terms of a high score in a lexical test. We analyzed age, sex, school origin, maximum schooling reached parents and reading habits in 200 freshmen from different majors at Universidad Nacional de Mar de Plata, Argentina and Universidad Nacional de San Luis, Argentina in the year 2019. The results indicate that the variable that has the greatest incidence in statistical terms is that of reading habits, which means that it is necessary to promote this practice from primary and secondary levels.
