Descripción:This argumentative essay proposes a comparative analysis among the "TheFool of the Riddles" tale from My Aunt Panchita written by Carmen Lyra, and "The Fortune Teller" by Alejandro Afanasyev. Analysis of archetypes isexposed like the stages of the hero's journey, numerology, and nicknames ofcharacters. As conclusions, it is determined that in the Costa Rican collectivememory, this story has not been one of the most representative becausethis paradigm has mainly permeated through Christianity. Besides, there is asubstantial differentiation in the stages of the hero's journey, the departure, the initiation, and the return, in comparison to the experiences of femalecharacters in other stories by the same Costa Rican author.
