| Описание: | This paper analyzes the mechanisms of information processing in relation to crime as news, and its relationship with the phenomenon of social control, throughout the study of two important Argentine newspapers: La Nación and La Nueva Provincia. It is sought an interpretation of both dailies from its common discursive trends in how their representations on criminal issues are built . This process includes a contract of reading that press set down with its audience that is assumed the public share with them. The issue of control, which has its own seal and force in the society of vigilance, deeply concerns the media in its own combinations of national and local scopes finding in them a steady support and a wide impact. Moreover, we stress the importance of remembering that mass media, in general, feeds on social representations; hence the phenomenon crosses the entire society. Exposing this way of thinking as an emancipatory tool, and linking theory with a review of current and future practice of journalists regarding how to produce and disseminate information, helps to retrace consecrated positions. |
