| الوصف: | This article examines the feminist critique of epistemic neutrality and its alternative proposal of situated knowledge, socially and historically anchored in the concrete position of the knower. It is argued that Donna Haraway's critique of the ideal of an impartial, disembodied, and universal observer —what has come to be known as the "god trick"— does not lead to a relativism that abandons the possibility of distinguishing better from worse accounts of the world, but rather to the requirement that every knowledge claim declare the position from which it is formulated. On this basis, the standpoint theory developed by Sandra Harding, Nancy Hartsock, and Patricia Hill Collins is reconstructed, and the thesis is examined according to which social subordination, far from limiting the knowledge of those who bear it, can grant them a more complete understanding of social structure than that available to those who occupy a dominant position, provided that lived experience is transformed, through critical reflection and collective organization, into a properly epistemic standpoint. Also examined is the epistemic exploitation that results when this demand for understanding is improperly shifted onto oppressed groups themselves, who are compelled to educate privileged groups about their own oppression without reciprocity or adequate recognition. Finally, the methodological proposal of strong objectivity is developed, according to which systematically examining the researcher's position increases, rather than compromises, the rigor of scientific inquiry. |
