Descripción:This essay attempts to understand the mechanisms of analysis of the religious theme in Jorge Luis Borges’ prose and poetry, using an example from each genre. The use of the Bible and theological language is one of the resources that the Argentine writer has to model fantastic worlds, a source among many others that he brings into dialogue in his writings. Based on the biblical allusions that the Argentine author highlights, the use of “biography” and “enumeration” is emphasized towards a secular reading of the Bible. This interdisciplinary dialogue serves as a model for the author’s proposal: theology is a metaphorical language that feeds on other languages, the Bible is a metaphorical language that feeds on many contexts when reread today. Neither are the property of any church, of any religion, they belong to the universe of the human.
