Descripción: | This article presents one of the activities carried out in the framework of a university extension project titled Orientation and Support for Student Tutors. The tutors are adolescents who attend two secondary schools in the city of Córdoba (Argentina), which provide school support to children from two public schools. The intervention described here was conducted before the exercise of the tutoring practice. The objective was to reflect on the young people’s beliefs, fantasies and fears before starting the tasks of their role. It is a qualitative work where individual and group activities were implemented with the student tutors. Based on the answers obtained, beliefs, fantasies, and fears were grouped in two categories: one is related to the child they accompany; the other one is the exercise of their role as student tutors.
