Disgrifiad:Building on a previous trend from the early 1990s, Argentine agriculture —led by soybean cultivation— has significantly increased its production volume, reaching harvest production levels that triple those recorded in the late 1980s. Such growth has placed significant pressure on grain storage and transportation systems. This last point is the focus of our work, following a line of research that proposes evaluating the various links that make up agricultural production chains individually and in their mutual interaction. Specifically, the study focuses on truck freight, which has been the primary mode of transport for decades. Market size, vehicle quantity requirements, and market characteristics are calculated, including pricing schemes and “bottleneck” periods. Finally, the research connects with primary production. It analyzes the impact of freight while considering the scale of farms and their location.
