תיאור:The order Hyphomicrobiales of the class Alphaproteobacteria contains several families, including Rhizobiaceae, Brucellaceae, and Methylobacteriaceae. Several members of these families are important for biogeochemical cycling and/or characterized by symbiotic or pathogenic interactions with plants, animals, or humans. Despite their diverse lifestyles and metabolic capacities, these bacteria share many similarities in the fundamental mechanisms of cell proliferation, as well as of response and adaptation to stress factors. This presentation will provide an overview of our current knowledge of the mechanisms that coordinate DNA replication and segregation, and cell growth and division. Furthermore, new insights into the regulatory network that controls adaptation to nutrient limitation and other stress factors will be shared.
