Arts as a Means of Systematizing Processes: The Case of Traces in the Darkness

| Descrição: | Trazos en la Oscuridad is a production of Teatro Kärätiä theater group, made up of students from the Sarapiquí’s Campus, who since the end of 2022 and during the year 2023 were developing a process of systematization of the results collected by the project “Manifestaciones Artísticas: A holistic tool to empower yourself and grow seeking socio-emotional well-being”, SIA code 0316-20. With the preparation of this article, the project proposed to publish the scope and impact that the work had, during the reflection spaces in the communities of Puerto Viejo, Horquetas, Río Frío and the Virgen de Sarapiquí through the forums after the presentations. For this reason, a route is drawn that goes from the antecedent of the work, which were the expressive arts workshops offered in the communities, through the methodological process for the collection and processing of information, and then moving through the results to which the project came to and how all these elements had an impact on the creation of the stage production. Finally, the impact of the work on the community will be discussed, as well as the new contributions that emerged as a result of the reflection to conclude that art, and in this case theater, is a powerful meeting space that can bring together a very diverse group of people, from a perspective of gender, age range, ethnic, cultural, regional and others, facilitating spaces for reflection, which from a mediation of respect, allow the analysis and construction of knowledge that can become evidence of the opinion of a community. In summary, the experience of the project and the publication of these results can be considered a precedent for the validation of the performing arts as research, a space for discussion, socialization and input for the creation of knowledge. |
