Description:In this article, the author outlines and explains the influences, the continuities, the changes, and the ruptures he has experienced in learning and practicing his craft, all of which have allowed him to mature as a human being and as a historian. He reveals his specialty within history, his subjects of interest, and the ever-present, ever-changing, never definitive questions and answers that have arisen throughout his career, allowing him to understand the purpose of history, the social utility of historical knowledge, the role of the historian in a society such as ours, and how analysis is structured from a historical perspective.
