| Descripción: | This paper proposes an interdisciplinary framework mapping the fields of library science, education, social sciences, and psychology to investigate how texts function as bibliotherapy and how their therapeutic core has evolved from classical methods of bibliotherapy suited for clinical practice to current approaches applied in educational, social or developmental contexts. It organizes these functions in preventive, corrective, and formative dimensions, presenting a coherent interpretation of the field while acknowledging how the evolving role of libraries and information professionals continues to mediate between information and learning. Operating from this vantage point, practitioners who collaborate closely with teachers are uniquely positioned to create bibliotherapy programs because their expertise and skills inform the creation of evidence based interventions that can address multi-faceted needs and promote emotional regulation, resilience and social connectedness through guided reading as well as re-integration processes. |
