Descripció:It is assumed that Yolanda López’s piece Triptych (1978) belongs to the genre that can be classified as contemporary art. For this purpose, a theoretical review is established drawing from history and theology, in relation to contemporary art. It is argued that López’s artistic proposal is defamatory not only to the religious institution of modern-Western Christianity but also to contemporary art itself. Within the arguments of this presupposition lies the critical potential toward the institution called “art” that is present throughout this work.
