| Beschreibung: | The objective of this article is to analyze the processes of rewriting in the stories “Pierre Menard, autor del Quijote” (1939) by Jorge Luis Borges and “Zorg, autor de El Quijote” (2019) by Yuri Herrera, with the aim of questioning notions of authorial legitimacy and the supposed immutable nature of a literary work. The Argentine and Mexican authors engage directly or indirectly with Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra’s seminal work of the same name. The former does not present a simple copy, but rather a readaptation to his context, while the latter, through science fiction, incorporates an extraterrestrial language and invites complex interaction between text and reader. Ultimately, these literary processes open up evolutionary dialogues between texts and readers, allowing literature to be understood as a dynamic and constantly resignified field, as anticipated by Cervantes and Borges and reactivated, from a contemporary and experimental perspective, by Yuri Herrera within the scope of Hispanic American literature. |
