Descripció:This study presents the results of a qualitative research project with a participatory action approach, developed within the framework of the Master’s Degree in Educational Technology and Innovation at the Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica. Its purpose was to strengthen active participation and meaningful learning through the use of technology and the implementation of innovative methodologies. The process was structured in four phases: diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Within this framework, a technopedagogical proposal based on the flipped classroom and challenge-based learning was designed and implemented with eighth-grade students at Colegio Patriarca San José, addressing climate change in Social Studies. The findings show that, compared to traditional practices, the proposal increased participation, autonomous learning, and critical thinking. It is concluded that the use of technology-mediated active methodologies strengthens meaningful learning and the understanding of climate change, although it poses challenges in terms of methodological adaptation.
