Описание:Alternative agriculture has emerged as a response to the ecological, social, and economic limitations of the conventional agricultural model. This study analyzes the identity tensions and motivations that led producers in Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama to adopt organic and agroecological approaches, marking a break from traditional forms of production. Through a qualitative approach using interviews, participant observation, and trajectory analysis, key factors in the transition are identified, such as environmental degradation, health issues, and the revaluation of traditional knowledge. Additionally, the role of NGOs, institutions, and cooperation networks in the adoption of these systems is examined. The findings suggest that, beyond economic reasons, farmers integrate social and environmental values that transform their identity and the production dynamics in the different regions.
