Popis:This essay aims to initiate a dialogue for understanding and raising awareness of ac-tions revolving around the ethical principles of geography as a profession and applied science, drawing on geography from similar studies conducted in this field by experts inphilosophy, epistemology of sciences in general, and geography in particular. Initially,a theoretical, conceptual, and epistemological foundation of the ethical framework thatunderpins all human activity will be briefly presented. Then, the importance of theseprinciples will be discussed from a critical approach that highlights the complexity andcontradictions of responsibly assuming such principles in the real world of professionalwork. The text concludes with a reflection on the present and future the ethical and moral challenges challenges that geography faces in terms of its subject matter and the performance of the profession in Costa Rica.
