Description:This essay will explore the process of teacher training at Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica (UNA). A historical overview of the approaches to teacher professional development and an analysis of future challenges is made. The need for the inclusion of reflection on praxis as the axis of training is argued, through specific strategies, such as the systematization of experiences, learning communities, and pedagogical partners.
