Description:The objective of this article is to describe and analyze the research that deals with tropical cyclones, developed from the climatological history in Latin American countries originating in the Atlantic-Caribbean. The main perspectives, sources and methodologies will be identified. It is based on two hypotheses: 1) that it is a recent field in history, so its approach is heterogeneous (as an independent or dependent variable); and 2) that the impact of cyclones differs from one country to another, so, in some places, it is a more recurrent issue, which has influenced the consolidation of this approach. Therefore, a balance of research in the region would shed theoretical-methodological lights on what has been done and what can be done in a trans, multi and interdisciplinary way.
