Opis:Research was based on the analysis of the five forest species with the most natural regeneration in the tropical dry forest of Universidad Estatal del Sur de Manabí’s Ándil farm. The main problem lies in the lack of research on natural regeneration in the tropical dry forest; therefore, studying the behavior of natural regeneration of forest species is vital. Field work was conducted at the Ándil farm, which has a total area of 86.00 ha, where 60.2 ha constitute tropical dry forest and 6.1 ha include the bs-T used by the Forestry Engineering Program for research.  Three 50 m x 50 m plots were made corresponding to 2,500 m2 per plot, for a total of 7,500 m2 used in the research. The dasometric variables used in the forest inventory were base diameter (15.0 cm from the ground to the base of the plant, which includes species less than 1.0 m tall) and diameter at breast height (DBH). The natural regeneration stages taken as a reference for the dry forest regenerative behavior were timber, pole, and sapling. A total of 1,004 trees were inventoried, representing 26 tree species and 21 family types. The five species with the greatest natural regeneration were Triplaris cumingiana Fisher & Meyer, Cynophalla mollis (Kunth) J.Presl, Leucaena leucocephala (Lam) de Wit, Cordia alliodora Ruiz & Pav, and Cedrela odorata L., forest species representative of the tropical dry forest.
