| Descripción: | The perceptions of local leadership in the communities of the municipality of Ameca, Jalisco, Mexico, regarding their needs in sustainable food for the social management of public policies are analyzed, with the objective of constructing proposals for social development. A participant ethnographic methodological design and the techniques of dialogue workshops, in-depth interviews and ethnographic observations are applied. In the results of the study, community leaders consider that their participation in the design of their own policy that is reflected in the “Declaration of Tala” is a strategy that has contributed to the social management of public policies on sustainable food. The innovative contribution of the study is related to the role that local leadership plays in the social management of public policies, by incorporating the perception of the population as a negotiation element for its implementation. It is concluded that the success of the social management of public policies is related to their construction, since they must be generated from the daily life of the communities to be generalized at the state and national level. |
