Descrição:Leonardo Boff’s criticism of the techno-scientific or modern paradigm is taken up in this article, not only because it destroys the foundations and myths of modernity, but because it proposes an alternative: the care and dignity of life. In this sense, the Brazilian theologian’s criticism of instrumental reason is not satisfied with denying modernity, but rather proposes how to get out of the pitfalls that arise from it. On the other hand, if the modern paradigm is based on the destruction and violence with respect to the otherness of its itself, Boff reflects that it is the other as a victim, along with nature, that must be dignified, because in this way life is dignified, not in an abstract way, but concretely. Now, thinking from the concrete makes it possible for each of the parts to be relevant, and thus, to have a complex understanding of the world from a holistic-interdisciplinary perspective.
