Descripción:Within the accelerated religious transformations that have been observedin Western societies during the last decades, in Latin America there is aninteresting phenomenon in the Catholic Church as is that of the so-callednon-practicing Catholics, a term in itself ambiguous and debatable, butwhose phenomenon to which it refers has an important impact on theChurch, due to the decrease in the number of faithful who are actively involvedin religious life. In this article we reflect and discuss various aspectsof the present situation, from a Catholic theological perspective, seekingto identify what could be a sign of the times, and a historic opportunity forthe Catholic Church and Theology to deepen the renewal since the SecondVatican Ecumenical Council.
