Descripción:This article starts from the study of the first generation of the national literary avant-gardes. From a critical perspective, the objective is to get closer to the work of one of the least studied writers of that generation, the poet and playwriter Alfredo Sancho. The present analysis raises the need to rescue from oblivion these types of figures who, for political and/or personal reasons, remain outside the canonical history of Costa Rican literature. It also proposes an approach to the poem "Se dice merenjunjia" from the book Cantera Bruta, based on some elements of critical analysis by López-Casanova, through which it is possible to establish a series of connections between Sancho's work and various literary movements of avant-garde.
