| الوصف: | Despite the complicated situation that prevails in Mexico as a result of the violence that has been experienced for several years, it is undeniable that the issue of human rights has had a vertiginous development since the end of the last century, especially in the case of the establishment of figures defending rights, inspired by the ombudsman of Swedish origin. The link between human rights and the university has been very important in the development of these, because it is no coincidence that the first human rights protection organization in Mexico, inspired by the Scandinavian figure, has been established at university headquarters, when In 1985, the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico inaugurated the Defensoria de Derechos Universitarios, a fact that had important repercussions and from that moment different universities throughout the country have followed the example by establishing bodies for the defense of rights within their communities, thereby the defense of rights in university headquarters has continued advancing more and more. In 2016, the signing of commitments between the federal government, the Comision Nacional de los Derechos Humanos and the Asociacion Nacional de Universidades e Instituciones de Educacion Superior was carried out, under which the human rights issue in Mexico will be favored in the coming years, because the universities committed themselves in an important way in that sense |
