Descripción:The increase of violent episodes in the most diverse scenarios and the most varied manifestations makes us wonder if violence is a permanent characteristic in lives of both people and countries, or if it can be eradicated with specific actions. Mental health professions, such as counseling, psychology, and social work, in tandem with professionals working in academic scenarios, have an unavoidable social responsibility in caring for so many people and groups who have seen their lives cut short by violence. Both professional classes must work together in promoting new ways of thinking about violence and peace conducting to specific actions that eradicate the former and promote the latter.
