Description:The purpose of this article is to make visible the rights of peasant communities victimized by the armed conflict in the Urabá subregion of Colombia. From both an academic perspective and within the framework of human rights prevention and protection at the regional level, the article seeks to raise awareness of the valuable role played by these communities throughout the conflict. In particular, it highlights the Community of Peace of San José de Apartadó, which continues to face persistent risks of human rights violations while simultaneously contributing a legacy of peace and nonviolent resistance. As a symbol of hope, this community has demonstrated that peaceful resistance is possible even amid adverse circumstances, underscoring its courage and determination to pursue a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
