Educational Leadership in the Teacher Training of Business Education: An Analysis from Curriculumand Practice

| Descripción: | This article analyzes how curricular content and participatory strategiesinfluence the development of educational leadership in students enrolledin the Commercial Education career. Using a qualitative and hermeneuticapproach, the perspectives of students, instructors, and leadershipspecialists were considered along with an analysis of the current coursesyllabi. The results show that although students possess leadership skillssuch as communication, conflict resolution, and collaborative work, theseabilities are not always consciously recognized nor explicitly addressedin the curriculum. Likewise, the study reveals that the program includessome elements related to educational leadership, but only as transversalthemes, which creates gaps in conceptual training. Participatory strategies,such as projects, case studies, simulations, and debates, stand out as key tools to promote decision-making, autonomy, and student empowerment.In summary, the findings highlight the necessity of intentionally integrateeducational leadership into the training of future teachers through relevantcontent and active methodologies that strengthen their role as agents ofchange within academic environments. |
