| Descripción: | This paper presents the results of a research project on Initial Teacher Training (ITT) in Social Studies in Costa Rican state universities from the categories of representations of history and its teaching and the relationship between curriculum and academia. Along with the data, five of the tensions of ITT are presented, and based on these ideas, a proposal is made for a model to critically train future teachers of Social Studies and Civic Education in Costa Rica. The study is qualitative with an interpretative approach; the method used is the longitudinal case study. The main conclusion is that the ITT is complex, but proposals can be made based on dialogue and ways of constructing knowledge in school subjects. |
