Description: | This article examines how evangelical, Pentecostal, and neo-Pentecostal sermons on YouTube integrate discourses from social psychology and the economy of emotions, adapting to contemporary sociocultural contexts. Through categories such as emotional self-management, personal authenticity, and personal growth, a transition towards a “theology of happiness” emerges, replacing traditional sacrifice narratives with neoliberal visions of success and consumption. Qualitative and quantitative analyses highlight happiness as a lifestyle in these discourses, promoting ideals of individualism, prosperity, and material satisfaction. |
