Descripción:The purpose of this text is to analyze the different models of historical research that have been concerned with studying the interactions between religion and politics in the second half of the 19th century. This work offers an account of the historiography produced in the last thirty years, so that its possibilities and limitations in the understanding of the religious can be considered. The manuscript ends with a consideration of the different  models of political theology from which the political scopes of religious institutions or actors have been considered.
