Descripción:This article explores the origins of menstrual activism globally during the 20th century, the theoretical and practical discussions surrounding its agendas and mechanisms of action, and its emergence in Colombia. It proposes a reconstruction of the origins and consolidation of menstrual activism between 2014 and 2025 based on a systematic review of primary and secondary sources. Furthermore, it analyzes debates surrounding menstruation, poverty, and menstrual dignity, as well as their diverse political stances and horizons. The analysis reveals the existence of a heterogeneous activism composed of two opposing paradigms—institutionalist and decolonial—and the implementation of multiple mechanisms that share a common goal: the dignification of the menstrual experience.
