Descripción:This research was carried out with the objective of analyzing the perception that students have regarding the different careers and emphasis offered by the School of Management Sciences (ECA), of the State Distance University (UNED). The research process was descriptive, to know the general opinion of the consulted about various elements of the demand in the academic offer of their careers. This information was obtained through a survey addressed to students enrolled during the second semester of 2015, both at the University Center (CU) of San José, and at the Anastasio Alfaro High School, using a convenience sampling method, for the ease to consult the students who attend the tutorials that are taught in both venues. He stressed that the career of greatest demand is Public Accounting, followed by Business Management, Banking and Finance and Human Resources. Similar behavior is maintained with respect to the careers that most motivate them to study because Accounting and Human Resources, leads the preference of students. Thus, it is important to improve the image of others in order to obtain a better position among the tastes and interests of the student population of the ECA, who choose to enroll some of their emphasis.
