Descripción:The aim of this article is to identify the political actions carried out by the National Association of Educators (ANDE) from its inception to the present. The theoretical discussion positions this group as an organization that exerts pressure on governmental powers to achieve its goals. As part of the theoretical framework, the concepts of pressure groups, trade unions, and social movements are addressed, along with those of politics, power, culture, and political action. The methodology focuses on building a typology that classifies the actions into six different types. The main finding is that actions vary according to the national context. Since the 1980s, confrontational forms and repertoires have been adopted, while previously dominant proposal and negotiation actions have declined. This is explained by the shift in the state's model, the adoption of neoliberal policies, and the ineffectiveness of dialogue in reaching agreements. Due to its consistent actions and the achievements obtained, it is concluded that ANDE is an influential actor in Costa Rican history.
