Descripción:The COVID 19 pandemic situation caused changes in the Costa Rican educational system and consequently, an emergency virtual education modality was implemented. In this research, the objective is to examine the subjective experience of a group of professionals teaching I and II cycles of Basic General Education to adapt to the new pedagogical modality. The methodological design is based on the phenomenological paradigm, since a non-probabilistic intentional sample was selected with the participation of 20 teachers from the Regional Directorates 01-San José Central, 03-San José Norte and 04-San José Oeste. The results obtained show weaknesses of the teaching staff in virtual mediation skills and strategies. It is concluded that, despite the learning acquired, it is still necessary to enhance the technological area in the educational community, in response to the demands of the new digital generations.
