Descripción:The results are presented here of a systematic review that aims to identify the main characteristics of research on women studying engineering in Latin America, as well as the consensus that has been reached. To achieve this, the Scielo, EBSCO, CONRICyT and Web of Science databases were reviewed. The result was found in 18 articles that met the inclusion criteria. Among the most important findings, an increase in the scientific production of the subject was found in recent years, in addition to a balance between quantitative and qualitative approaches to study the matter. In the theoretical aspect, most of the works use gender theory. It is recommended to carry out research with populations from different contexts such as rural areas, who are part of ethnic groups or who come from low socioeconomic contexts, in order to understand more in depth and thus be able to address the problem of the under-representation of women in engineering.
