Περιγραφή:During the last 40 years, the economic and political elites of Costa Rica have consistently implemented neoliberal labor policies. This essay proposes rebuilding that road of four decades around three aspects of policies that still prevail in the current labor debate: the public labor policy, the flexibility in working schedules, and the Costa Rican governments policy in regard to unions. This text’s analysis combines a systematization of studies mainly conducted over the first decades of the study, with a personal analysis of the author based on primary sources: legislative projects, political and press speeches of the last decades. It is concluded that anti-union has been the strategic component of the neoliberal labor policies in Costa Rica; therefore, it is posed the urgent need to revalue and strengthen the independent organization of the working class to reverse the neoliberal reasoning in the labor context.
