Description:In the context of the centenary of the University Reform of Córdoba 1918–2018, this study is based on the main approaches to university autonomy discussed in the Latin American academic field. From a summary analysis of this subject, the fields of university autonomy are characterized, interpreted and explained as a democratic pillar, legal space of differentiated power and the manifestation of Latin American public universities as social actors present in a century full of political experiences around the constitution, continuity, challenges and defense of university autonomy.
