| Diğer Bilgiler: | The Ophidic Accidents is an important health problem that has multiple dimensions, so its approach must be comprehensive. As a result of a country initiative, the problem of of idiocy in Costa Rica is being addressed by a public university in the form of the Clodomiro Picado Institute (ICP). The search for solutions to the local problem has had important repercussions at the regional and global level, and the work of the ICP is considered a successful example that has achieved goals of great importance in the scientific, productive and outreach fields. The success of ICP goes beyond the scientific publications or the number of vials of antivenin produced, which is evidenced by the large number of people who recover their health and their own stories. That achievement is the product of the leadership generated by individuals from our own academic community, the focus on the generation of scientific knowledge in a comprehensive manner, where individual initiative and creativity is respected. but framed in the principles of collaboration and service. |
