Miêu tả:Introduction 2018 marked the 100th anniversary of the Córdoba Reform, an event that would lay the foundations for the Latin American university model that has shaped the University of Costa Rica since its foundation. Objective Within the framework of the X Research Conference of the Institute of Social Research, a review of the proposals and commitments of the Córdoba Reform is made, to analyze social action (university extension) as a pillar of the University of Costa Rica, together with the research and teaching. Method For this, a historical review of the context in which the Cordoba Reform arose in 1918 is made. The way in which the University of Costa Rica has conceived social action and some of the debates that currently go through it is reviewed. Results Starting in 1918, an original university model was constituted and contextually adapted to the social demands of the time, many of which are still in force. Links are identified so that this activity works in an articulated way with research and teaching. Conclusions It is concluded that it is unethical to repeat "decolonial" discourses, if we reproduce this type of practice from our academic work, by preserving all the intellectual production and technical knowledge acquired here, only for those of us within the university walls.
